Location: Los Angeles, CA
Industry: Photography
Working Environment: Final Cut, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Bridge, Microsoft Expression

Jim Jordan Photography is one of the entertainment industry’s most-well respected photography studios; its photographs of A-list celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Drew Barrymore and Charlize Theron, typically adorn the covers of leading magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Elle.

CHALLENGE

Improve file management, productivity and project efficiency among its eight workstations without having to install fibre channel, which would be cost prohibitive.

Solutions

With Ethernet already installed throughout the facility, Jim Jordan Photography settled on Small Tree’s cost-effective, Ethernet-based shared storage GraniteSTOR solution and unique OS X networking technology supporting multiple Ethernet ports, tightly integrated with Apple’s built in file sharing system.

Since installing the GraniteSTOR technology, which also incorporates Small Tree’s PEG4, a 4-port Ethernet card with the Edge-corE ES4524D, a 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switch certified to work with Small Tree’s technology, Jim Jordan’s editors have been able to access heavy amounts of data simultaneously on multiple systems, making life significantly easier, and, ultimately making clients happier by limiting billable man hours on each project.
